  Pre-Mixed and Frozen (PMF) Adhesives for Aerospace Applications

  At Integral Products, Inc., our attention to detail and expertise set us apart in the frozen adhesive market. We specialize in the production of these pre-mixed and frozen (PMF) multi-component adhesives :

  PMF Multi-Component Adhesives

  In aerospace manufacturing, many adhesives are two-part systems with strict mixing guidelines to ensure accuracy and optimal performance. Unfortunately, in-house mixing often presents significant challenges, such as:

  • Contamination
  • Costly delays due to scheduling or rework issues
  • Inadequate blending

  Worse yet, undetected mixing errors can compromise mission-critical components once they have reached outer space, where repairs are not an option. In these cases, manufacturers and engineers trust Integral Products’s experience with PMF adhesives.

  Formulation Process

  Our PMF adhesives are pre-mixed under tightly controlled conditions. First, we combine Part A (i.e., resin) and Part B (i.e., hardener), then remove any entrapped air through a vacuum degassing process. The mixed adhesive is then immediately frozen to below -40°C, which halts the curing process and maintains stability. To preserve this low temperature, products are shipped on dry ice and can be stored in freezers to maximize shelf life and performance.
  
  When the adhesive is ready, we remove the pre-filled container from the freezer and let it thaw for 10–30 minutes, depending on container size. It can then be applied to materials and will appear as fresh as if it were mixed just minutes ago.

  One lab is used for “Application/In Process” Testing for product verifications

  Our second laboratory is used for Mechanical Testing and Material Certification

  The Application/In Process Lab can perform tests for material requirements and performance. We have years of experience performing QC tests for various aerospace products.
